BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Budreau has practiced in the complex criminal and civil litigation area since 1990. He has been involved in some of the more prolific defense cases in Massachusetts including those involving prosecutions of alleged organized crime figures and individuals accused of high profile homicides.Selected verdicts. He has defended corporate executives accused of tax and SEC violations and others accused of defrauding investors and the federal government. He has defended public officials, health care providers, police officers, lawyers and doctors accused of various criminal offenses and regulatory violations. Mr. Budreau argues appeals in both federal and states courts. Zealous advocacy and sound legal judgment are at the core of all his strategic decisions and client advice.
Mr. Budreau has held teaching positions at various colleges including Harvard University School of Law and worked as a judicial law clerk. He has worked for a legal clinic which filed law suits against large corporations to redress unfair employment practices. He has battled big corporations and municipalities and governmental agencies on all fronts filing dozens of complaints and suits seeking to protect employees and individuals against unfair employment practices and property seizures. Mr. Budreau is an experienced and successful trial litigator who works zealously and aggressively on behalf of his clients. He has obtained not guilty verdicts on numerous homicide, felony and complex federal conspiracy cases over his career and has had numerous convictions reversed through direct appeals and motions to vacate client's convictions. He works with a team of lawyers who are equally experienced in criminal litigation and appeals. Together they have tried dozens of homicide cases and won not guilty verdicts for scores of clients. Mr. Budreau handles criminal appeals at all levels in state and federal court. He is a member of the bars for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of Maine and the U.S. District Courts of Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont, and the First and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He has handled state and federal cases in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, Florida, Maine, California and Rhode Island.
