Civil Litigation Results The following are examples of civil clients represented by Mr. Budreau: Corporate Litigation: Primarily employment related litigation. Examples include executive's claims that they were terminated for refusing to amend stock option contracts. and medical privacy violations against corporation. Employment Discrimination: Litigate and resolve racial and sex discrimination cases including hostile work environment and unfair termination claims. Resolved racial animus case against municipality which resulted in police chief's resignation . General Litigation: Regularly litigate assault and battery, homicide and other torts against the person. Recently represented Priest accused of failing to acknowledge paternity where case was dismissed on grounds that no such cause of action existed in Massachusetts. Case affirmed on appeal. Forfeiture Litigation: Regularly represent clients in forfeiture actions where the government is seeking to seize assets or property related to collateral criminal cases. Recently represented client where federal sought to forfeit over eight hundred thousand dollars of alleged profits from related criminal activity. Negotiated return of half the proceeds and obtained an agreement to release another million in proceeds held through a TRO. Personal Injury Cases: Litigated multiple personal injury cases and negotiated six figure sttlements on behalf of clients in multiple cases.
